One thing that I wish we did when we booked out flights is I wish we would have booked our flights earlier in the day, when we booked our flights we thought sweet lets flight out late so that we can spend the whole day in that city. WRONG! I would recommend having a flight around noon so you can wake up, get checked out of the hotel get on a train and go through security and be to your next city in the late afternoon.
Instead what we did was wake up, get breakfast, and walked around an abended mall. After killing time, we decide to take the tube to the airport. in Salt Lake where we are from the airport is 15 minutes away from our house, in Europe they are at least an hour away by train.
When we first planned our Europe trip we thought we could spend a whole day back in the current city. get a late flight and get into our new city at night. These didn’t really work because we had to carry around our suitcases.
on this day, we decide that after we would just go straight to the airport and hang out for an hour or so. we took the train to the airport and then went through security. I’m not sure what it is but London security was the strictest airport! when we were going through security Jed and i's bag got pulled. They were confused by his camel back and my dry wash was too big. They looked through all of our bags and where very strict. Once we got to the gate they said our carry-on bags where to big and that they would need to check our bags. luckily, they checked them for free after I told them that no one had stopped us. I told them that they could check them but we weren’t going to pay for it because we hadn’t had any problems in the past.
We had to wait for 2 hours to get on the plane! because Norwegian didn’t have enough flight crew. We let our Airbnb host that we would be late because our flight was delayed. We got to Italy super late! So late that the trains had stopped for the night and we were wondering how we would get into home for the night. We found a shuttle bus that would take us to our location.
This was the highlight of our night. they packed way too many of us into a van, so many people that I sat on Jed’s lap and another couple had to share a seat! this is where we met some awesome people! We talked about what everyone was doing. People where moving to Brazil, some people where meeting up with old friends. But we all had one thing in conman which was we all had been on that delayed flight and where ready to get to bed. We took some sharp turns around corners and sliding into each other!
We got to our Airbnb and met the nicest lady let us in! The view was breath taking! we had our own terrace! After meeting this lady, I wanted to hug her and have her make me pasta.
that night we slept with the door open and listened to Rome!
