One nice thing about Rome is that when you get a metro pass its for 24 hours. We bought a metro pass from the night before we headed back to the coliseum.
we had bought tickets to get into the colosseum but we didn’t have the paper we just had our conformation number. We got into the coliseum and tried to convince them that we did pay for them but they wouldn’t believe us. luckily, we had bought everything on our American Express. seriously the best we ended up buying the tickets there and then disputing the ones that we had bought prior. I would recommend buying them in advance but I would recommend bring the actual piece of paper!
We walked around this amazing building! It was so unreal to think that so many different things happened in this building later in the trip I watched gladiator and everything made since! This is where Jed got a little frustrated.
When you look at these places online these places look empty but when you go there in real life there are lots of people. and Jed got so frustrated. I might I add we went in September which isn’t even considered the busy time of the travel season. I always laugh at Jed because he is the calmest people i have ever met until something convinces him.
we walked around the stadium and then decide to head over to the trivia fountain. stopping for lunch of course and then we had it... We had GELATO! Oh, my LOURD! Gelato is amazing! We had one on our way to the trivia fountain, and had one after the trivia fountain and then one later that night. yum!! Like I said before when you see gelato don’t question, just get Gelato!
Walking to the trivia fountain was beautiful. it was in old town Rome. Narrow street and beautiful views! We went to the dome and then, Gelato! we went to the first place that ever-made gelato and it was so amazing! Jed and I got our own larges and loved every bite of it! Gelato in America will never be the same! we stopped at a church on the way back and it was so interesting because I was asked to leave because I wasn’t modest enough... ill post the dress that I was wearing and I thought it was modest enough but just so everyone knows what the standards are in Rome.
As we walked back to the metro it started to rain. but we loved it! Running in the rain in Rome, laughing at all the people trying really hard not to get wet and Jed and I just laughing at each other.
we got to our place that had an amazing view of the Vatican and just talked about what it would be like to live here. We went to this cute restaurant part of town and had great dinner. One thing that I like about Italian food is that they don’t put a lot of preservatives in their food so you can eat a lot and not be overly full. we walked back and stopped at our first restaurant that we had to been to get, you guessed it. More gelato! We headed back packed up our bags and figured out how we were going to get to our next place.
