This way a bitter sweet day. We had been so sheltered by this cruise ship. It had got us to the places we needed to be, it fed us, it was a place to sleep. I would 100 percent do another cruise. whether it be a river cruise or a Mediterranean cruise it was so easy! Call me old and not adventurous but the cruise life was pretty cushy! if this is your first time going on long Europe trip I would recommend booking a cruise. it was well worth our money and it gave us a break but we covered so much ground.
But we got to Athens and our cruise ship offered a package where they would pick you up, you would see one or 2 sights in Athens and then head to the airport.
When we original planned our trip we though once again if we had a late flight we could spend the day in Athens and then head out to our next stop. This didn’t end up going as planned we ended up spending way too much time in the airport.
But taking the bus tour was a great idea! they gave us a history of Greece and then went on a tour of the Parthenon. This is also where we saw the rock where Paul the apostle preached! how crazy that this city was that old! we also went to where the first modern day Olympics was held. it’s crazy how for one they built it and how big it was for how old it was and 2 how small it was compared to today’s modern-day arenas where the Olympics where held
