Looking back at all of these pictures and I just know that Jed and I have the best life. All of these pictures have a moment that I remember and all of these moments I laughed at Jed, or Jed laughed at me. Whether it be him pulling up on a scooter or me freaking out that he took me to capital hill while riding on a scooter threw the ghetto!
I know my blog has way to many pictures, but I blog for Jed and I to look back and think of all the funny things we do. Anyways...off my soap box.
We woke up and got ready for our long day ahead. We found our way down town and then tried to figure out what we were going to do. We stopped right next to the Holocaust museum....(well what Jed thought was the Holocaust museum) and he said, "look its the Star of David." Nope...that's actually a star that represents our country...so of course we had to take a picture. Jed wanted a hot dog so we stopped and ate a hot dog. We walked into the museum and we had a bottle of water and the security guard asked Jed to take a drink of the water to make sure it was indeed water, so Jed drank it and spilt it all down the front of him! We all laughed so hard!
We walked around trying to find out where to start the Holocaust tour. We walked down and all around the basement before finding someone to ask and by that time it was time for Jed to get our scooter ( it just gets better from here). So Jed went to pick up the scooter and I finally figured out that you needed to take a creepy elevator up to the top and work your way down. I pretty much ran threw the exhibit to make sure that I saw it all.
Afterwards I walked out of the door and there is Jed....cutest guy ever on a scooter! We went on a one way street which was actually a freeway to the air port. Our little scooter topped out at like 40 miles per hour, soooo we jump shipped and went off roading! We lifted up the scooter and road it on the grass by the Jefferson memorial which we had been trying to get to all day. We ended up starting our tour at the Washington monument. Took some pictures and then moved to the Lincoln memorial, the WWII, the White House, and then the capital (which was closed and under construction and Jed was so mad about it).
After we went to all of these places and saw all of these awesome things, we got hungry and wanted some good old southern chicken that they don't have in Utah. We wanted to go to Le Faunt plaza but we couldn't park our scooter there and we got yelled at by mall cops who told us we couldn't park at a bike rack. So we went to the next closest one, which was in capital hill. We went to Popeye's chicken and we walk in and I'm the only one with blonde hair and all the sudden we were not in Utah anymore! I stood out so bad and everyone was staring at me! When we got to the front we pulled out our amex gold card and the cashier told us "ohh honey you have too much money here, you need to leave before something happens!" Hahaha we ate our food, which was the hottest food I have ever eaten and we were out!
We went back to our place and grabbed our jackets because we were on our way out to go and see the Washington DC LDS temple. We had to use google maps to get up there and we had to literally take bike paths because it wanted us to go on freeways. To make things better, it started raining really bad! It was so funny because we stopped for gas and these people said,"you guys are crazy! You are going to get hurt with all this rain! We don't even want to drive in it let alone be on a scooter in it." Jed and I just laughed because we were totally fine (although we only almost wrecked on a slippery metal slab in the road). We must be too extreme for DC. We filled up on gas and headed to Kensington, which was such a pretty drive! Jed was getting pelted with rain so he wore my sunglasses so he could see.
The whole time our GPS wanted to take us on freeways, but because our scooter only topped out at 40 mph we chose to tell the GPS that we were a bike! We went on so many bike trails and were laughing so hard. We finally made it to the Washington DC temple! We were freezing and DRENCHED so we went into the visitors center. It's so funny because Jed and I are mormon, but we don't look like your typical mormon couple...it must be our hair ;)! To add on top of that we have been married for now almost 4 years and we don't have kids yet. They probably thought we are crazy! They ran over to us like we were investigators and we just said we live like two blocks away from temple square and go to church regularly. They kept asking me why I didn't have kids yet and I just said....I got stuff to do. We warmed up for a little bit and then decided to take a picture of the Washington DC temple which is Jeds favorite one!
After we left Jed was still drenched and he was going to be getting hit by all the rain on the way back so him and I switched jackets. He had my little wind breaker on and I had his wet jacket over another one of my dry jackets. I kept singing, "fat man in a little coat" over and over again! We road through Georgetown on the way back to drop off the scooter, but we still wanted to see the Jefferson memorial. It was so cold! We had some other guy take a picture for us because our fingers were frozen! Jed and I were still in each other jackets and we just looked so ridiculous! I got to ride it around for a little bit and it was so funny because I was covered in mud by the end of it.
We walked to the metro station and headed back to our place. We were so cold that we almost couldn't get. The rest of the night we ordered way too much Chinese food and watched the football game!
This was totally one of moments with Jed! We laughed so hard and just had so much fun! I would do it all over again in a heart beat.
