Trips Houston

Our trip to Houston was just what we needed to get threw the rest of the summer! Honestly I think that if we hadn't have gone on that trip Jed and I would have given up and just gone back to Utah. This summer has been more difficult because we have been out here since MARCH (that's like un heard of in the summer sales world) It has been really slow out here and the people that we work with can be difficult at times ( like with most sales reps), but anyways I don't want to talk about the negative!
We started our trip by driving on our one year anniversary to Lubbock to meet with our friends! Click HERE to read up on how we got to Lubbock and how we spent our one year! We left around two in the afternoon to make the LONG 8 hour car ride to Houston. We had so much fun driving with all of our inside jokes! We did get pulled over just once, but Kelby just sweet talked his way out of a ticket and we were good to go. We drove threw down town Houston, which had such an amazing skyline, then finally made it to our hotel.
When we got to our hotel it was like 12 AM and Jed and Kelby went to go check in. We had only told the reservation people that only two people would be staying there. Which made it even funnier with only one bed and them thinking Kelby and Jed where going to share it. Jasmine and I sat in the car laughing about how our husbands were going to share a bed and we would take the air mattress. The men got us all checked in and we walked to the outside of our room. We put all our stuff down thinking that we would just get into our room, but the door wouldn't open. Jed went and asked the front desk man what was going on and asked if we could get another key. The man at the desk said " ya see the arrow, that's the way it goes into the door." Jed was a little ticked off because he was thinking " how dumb do you think I am." So Jed got another card and we tried to get into the hotel room again! But it still didn't work, so this time Jed and Kelby both went into ask for another room, while Jasmine and I sat outside this sketchy hotel room with truckers walking around. But Jed and Kelby got the suite for us! Which was was a lot better because we had a ton of room for the air mattress and stuff.
While we were getting ready for bed Kelby was in the bathroom getting ready for bed and he yells that there is a cockroach in there! Jasmine and I where freaking out and wanted to go to another hotel because there were cockroaches roaming around our hotel room. Jed had informed me that they where every where down there, so we toughed it out.
The next morning we woke up and drove straight to Schlitterbahn! It was so much fun! We went on all the rides early in the day and we got on all of them really quick. After lunch we went and sat in the lazy river the rest of the day, which was so fun!
While we were at the park we decided that we wanted to go down by the pier. We drove down to the pier and it was so cute! They had lots of rides and food. We went to dinner at this cheep little restaurant that was so small but so good. I had some of the best mac and cheese! The rest of the night we just spent on the pier going on all the rides! After a long day of playing in the sun we finally crashed when we got home.
That next morning we drove back down to the pier/ beach area and went and took tons of cute pictures of us at the beach. There is a link Here with some of the pictures from Jasmines amazing camera. I still haven't gotten mine up, but they turned out so cute! I will post mine as soon as I can get them loaded to our computer. We got back in the car and went to go get ready for Wicked! We got all dressed up and went to dinner at a Brazilian restaurant which was good, the pineapple was definitely our favorite! After we drove to Wicked and parked on the top of the parking garage which had an amazing view so we took pictures up there. I love Houston I think downtown is so pretty! I would love to live there except for the humidity, that would be hard to get used to.
But wicked... was... amazing... Oh my! Growing up I had been in some traveling Broadway plays but I wasn't in any fun ones. Wicked was so good and I loved the story behind it. Jed constantly hears me listening to it on my phone or on YouTube. I cant get enough of it. If you haven't seen it you need to! It makes ya love the wicked witch a lot more!
When we got home we were so tiered that we just went to bed. We were going to go on a segway tour of Houston the next morning, but it was a down poor so we ended up not going and headed home early. Once we made the long drive back to Lubbock(8 hours), we got home and Jasmine did my hair! It looked really bad from growing out so she made it look a lot more natural! I LOVE IT! THANK YOU
That next morning we made the LONG drive back to El Paso( another 5 hours). We left at around 4 am, so that Jed could get to work on time. We had such a blast on our trip to Houston (our one year anniversary trip and Jasmine's birthday trip!) Thanks guys for the awesome trip!
